Peacemaker Renewed! Season 2 confirmed

The exceptional DC series Peacemaker will be back with season 2! John Cena will be back to kill for peace.

James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy movies) stated that re-creating Peacemaker had been a true highlight in his career.

Peacemaker is a spin-off, or a loose sequel to James Gunn's 2021 hit The Suicide Squad, which presented John Cena as Peacemaker for the first time. The series was released in January 2022 in HBO Max and was well received by fans as well as critics.

James Gunn will also return as the director and writer for the next season. The exceptionally entertaining series was a departure from regular superhero stories and characters. John Cena's Peacemaker takes digs on DC's main superheroes like Superman, Batman, and Aquaman.

Peacemaker, a superhero who would kill for peace, was loved by fans. Vigilante, aka Adrian Chase, another character in the series, won hearts, and the character is different from the Arrowverse's Adrian Chase. In Arrowverse, Adrian Chase's alter ego was Prometheus and was more serious as compared to the Peacemaker's version.

The character Vigilante is also another example of James Gunn's brilliance and his skill to reinvent. After Arrow, fans know Adrian Chase as Prometheus, who was a full-blown and hateful villain. But, Adrian Chase in Vigilante is a misguided, sometimes-goofy, and delusional character.
