I have known Sohum since childhood. He was always a bit socially awkward and never really fit in. After his mother's death, he became more isolated and quiet. He lost his job recently and was looking for a remote work opportunity to sustain himself. I tried reaching out to him, but he was distant, lost in his own world. I knew something was off, something beyond just trauma from his mother's death.
One day, Sohum called me in a panic, his voice trembling. He told me about strange occurrences in his apartment. He heard whispering voices and felt a malevolent presence in the room. He even saw something moving in the shadows. I thought it was just his imagination or his mental breakdown, but he insisted something was happening to him.
Days went by, and he kept complaining about the strange occurrences, the feeling of being watched, and the whispers that turned into haunting screams. I tried to help him, but he was beyond help, lost in his own madness. One day, he stopped answering his phone, and I decided to visit him.
The moment I entered his apartment, I felt a putrid smell that made my stomach churn. It was like something rotten and decayed was lurking in the room. Sohum was nowhere to be found, and the apartment was in a state of mess, with furniture overturned and broken.
As I walked around the apartment, I noticed something strange in the corner of my eye. It was like a shadow moving on its own, but when I looked directly, there was nothing there. That's when I heard a faint cry, like a baby's wail, but it was more of a grotesque, animalistic sound. It echoed in the room, getting louder and louder.
The putrid smell intensified, and I felt like something was watching me, lurking in the darkness. I tried to find Sohum, but the apartment was a maze of broken furniture and debris. That's when I saw it, a grotesque, twisted infant staring at me with cold, lifeless eyes. It was like a black hole, sucking the light and warmth out of the room.
I knew then that Sohum had disturbed something that he shouldn't have. He was drawn to the forbidden, the dark, and the evil. It was like he was sure what he was getting into, but he couldn't stop himself. I felt sorry for him, but I knew I had to leave that place and never look back.
Now, I live in constant fear, knowing that whatever Sohum disturbed knows about me too. I wrote this post as a desperate attempt to find help, to warn others not to venture into the forbidden. I know now that there are things beyond our understanding and beyond our control. And once we disturb them, there's no going back.
I pray that whoever reads this post heeds my warning and stays away from the darkness that lurks in the shadows, for it's not just the stuff of nightmares. It's a reality that can consume us whole.
